The club tonight announces the departure of attacking full back Matt Meechan, who has joined Benburb.
We would like to thank Matt for his service over the past few seasons and wish him well for the future.
Matt spoke about his time at the club: “
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Maryhill FC over the past two seasons and met some incredible boys along the way.
I can’t thank Ross and the coaching stuff enough for the work they’ve done to help me during my time at the club. I feel like I’ve developed massively as a player and that’s down to Ross and the coaches giving me my chance and pushing me on.
An opportunity has came up for me to push on at Benburb for the rest of this season and into season 2022/23.
I’d like to wish everyone involved at the club all the best for the future.”
Manager Ross Wilson added:
“After discussing the situation with Matt and whilst we are sad we are losing him, we would never stand in his way and I felt he had a great opportunity to go to that next level and progress.
We always want to keep our better players but Matt is a fine example that we are committed to providing that environment and platform for players young and old to develop and improve.”
